Taroue is as an executive producer for a documentary detailing of the devastation and despair in the U.S. Virgin Islands following Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017 and recently produced a concert series with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. He recently handled public relations for the successful mayoral campaign in the city of Gary, Indiana for candidate Jerome Prince and Social Change Film and Music Festival.

 

Taroue’s expertise bridges his array of skills in public affairs, publicity, and communications. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Texas Southern University in Houston, Taroue was selected to intern with the A. Phillip Randolph Institute as a national youth representative for the 30th Anniversary of the March on Washington where he developed fundraising, organizational and creative management skills. His hard work caught the attention of former U.S. Senator Carol Moseley Braun who hired him as a staff member to handle research and correspond with to constituents on health and educational issues.

 

Following his tenure on Capitol Hill, Taroue worked for Black Entertainment Television (BET) in the Special Projects for Syndication Division. He received a 1995 Emmy nomination for the project, “A Tribute to Black Music Legends.” He leveraged this unique achievement and professional relationships into a successful national business specializing in strategic communications, event planning, fundraising, and brand recognition programs for large and small companies, distinctive charities, state and federal agencies, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and high-profile individuals.

 

Taroue has received numerous awards and recognitions for his dedication to raising funds for charities.  He serves on the board of Social Change and Trustee at Stillman College.
